Say Cheese ... ~

Well, a v good friend of mine sent me links of a few of her favorite blogs.  Aaaarrrgghh!  They are so sharp, professional-looking, charming, etc.

But the most maddening thing about them are the photos.  (It is at this moment that my near complete lack of tech knowledge becomes public knowledge.)  How in the hell do they get their photos to look so fantastic, so crisp, so colorful???  Sonofabitc - no, wait, stop...

My grandparents could be reading this.  No joke, as my grandparents seem to be fans of my fledgling, picture-challenged blog.  At any rate...

Back to the photos.  I'll do you a favor and add the links to these quite cool blogs (the first three links to the left of this).  They're mostly written by mothers and wives (sorry, Grandpa K, kind of boring from your perspective I'm sure.).  Check out the shots!!  (Sweet, crisp ones of cute kids and amazing flowers and other neat stuff + some incredible photos of Prague).  Not only do mine not look anything like these, but it looks like our color camera is producing images in multiple shades of grey, period.  Sigh.  And somebody please, please post a comment here letting me know what I can do to transmogrify into the 21st century as far as my picture skills, equipment, etc go - please help this technologically challenged girl.

(I guess it might help if I stopped taking photos with my camera phone??)

Jul: I feel your envy. My food photos are so sorry looking. I was actually thinking about finding a digital photography class to get up to speed in my spare time. The problem with that is that the class would have to be offered from like 9:00 p.m. to midnight or something! Seriously, I think it's a combination of lighting, equipment, time, and skill...most of which I do not have. SmittenKitchen even makes brussel sprouts look attractive! - Chris
