Today is my first posting - kind of dull, but must start somewhere. Babyowlandaristocracy (blog name) comes from two things: first of all, I have a young daughter and find her quite amazing, so our baby is numero uno; and secondly, love to read and a classic favorite is by Gerald Durrell, "Birds, Beasts, and Relatives". There is a chapter in the book titled 'Owls and Aristocracy' and it seemed a bit whimsical to me... so I threw that into the name of my blog for good measure and levity.
If you're a reader - or even if you're not one - try G. Durrell when you have a moment. Thoroughly enjoyable, great to spur the imagination, indulge in a bit of escapism (he writes quite a bit about his cool, family and animal-filled childhood on a small Greek island!), and just deep enough to give you a little food for thought without overwhelming a tired brain.
