So today during baby bootcamp (the exercise program I do with Caroline), I was chatting with a two and a half year old about the ocean and marine life. It seems she'd noticed me enticing Caroline with a toy crab to stop fussing. So she launched into what animals she had seen on her recent trip to San Diego and the ocean. I asked her about fish and whales - the whale question must have struck a chord with her because she became quite animated about whales in the ocean. I threw in the fact that a lot of whales are bigger than cars (yes, I admit my ability is off to accurately eye something and then label it with a size... for instance, I wear a size four - uh, huh).
Anyway, I mentioned to this cute two + year old how big whales are and she politely agreed, then hollered out the word "fish". So I assumed we were on to different marine life, and thought about what I should say regarding fish. No sooner had I started to speak, and she gazed out over the tray on her stroller and said "I like chocolate...". I think she must be the smartest kid next to Caroline because - gosh darn it, she's right, chocolate belongs in every conversation (hence my reason for diligently attending bootcamp).
We both quieted down after that. Despite a significant age difference, I think we both decided to meditate on the idea of chocolate for awhile, which I am still doing... got to go!!
