Will the Real America Please Stand Up?

Who are these people?? I'm starting to get a suspicious feeling that only "Republicans" are supposed to fly the American flag... and I use quotation marks around the word "Republicans" because I think we all know who these people are, including "Republicans" themselves. They're the group at which Ronald Reagan might have rolled his eyes - although I think he was much too classy of a man to ever roll his eyes; They're the people that William F Buckley and Ayn Rand would have shaken their heads at, while wrinkling their brows in puzzlement; They're the ones that might cause George Schultz to press the bridge of his nose together in consternation.

This baloney being pressed on Americans - and which, unfortunately, many are impressed by - that one is 'anti-American' or 'pro-socialist' if not supporting the presidential "Republican" candidate, is frightening and more importantly, embarrassing. I always thought that one of the major components of a successful democratic Republic was a multi-party system. However, now I'm beginning to wonder if the United States would be better off if we modeled our Executive Branch on some European monarchy? Then, we would have the peace of mind and comfort in our hearts that "Republicans" could run the show ad infinitum!

Oh joy - I think that's what Thomas Jefferson and other patriots really meant to happen, don't you?

Will some real Republicans please stand up?... My guess is they're now moonlighting as Independents, moderate Democrats, and Libertarians until someone pushes the right-wing clowns out of the Red tent. One can only hope, for the sake of true democratic ideals and liberty.
