Quote ~

Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage...

Anais Nin

Happy Belated Arbor Day ~

In honor of Arbor Day, let's "take back" our trees folks, and do what our Founding Fathers intended be done with trees... Chop One Down. Yes, you know it's true, over the past fifty years or so these liberal commies have twisted our FFs' good intentions to create Socialist concepts such as conservation and recycling to promote the "continued growth and well being of our forests". We all know that's just Soviet, no wait, Russian, no wait, maybe now it's Hispanic propaganda.

So, come on, let's all get out there and do the right thing, the American thing, be a patriot and Chop One Down!

To My Fellow Arizonans ~

If you support the new AZ immigration law SB1070 as I mostly certainly do, I want to give you a friendly reminder to not employ (directly or indirectly) any illegal immigrants to:

~ clean your home / office building
~ mow your lawn/tend your yard
~ work as daily labor on your home remodeling or repairs
~ pick or harvest the fruits and vegetables you purchase from the market
~ work in restaurant kitchens as busboys, cooks, dishwashers, etc
~ ___________________________ (space to add in occupations as needed)

We all know what they look and sound like:

~ light brown skin
~ dark hair (straight or curly)
~ accent of some sort

In fact, we should probably make the authorities aware if we see anyone who looks and sounds like that providing any of those services mentioned above. That would only help enforce SB1070 and obviously, promote good citizenship as well. So be sure if you spot these folks at your neighbors' house or in their yard, installing your new custom closets or reroofing your house, unloading trucks at any big box stores (WalMart, Costco, Target, KMart, _____________ (space to add in other stores as identified), or participating in many other low-paying jobs, you call the authorities... or at least let your neighbors / others know they could be acting as accessories to crime.

I know if you support SB1070 like I do, you don't employ any of these folks yourselves or contribute to the problem by shopping for the lowest price produce or eating out at restaurants, so it's not an issue for you.

Just think - if we can mitigate the illegal immigration problem, we'll pull out of the recession, housing values will rise again, more Americans will be employed in jobs they've been trying to score for years, our children won't be held back in school by the drain on resources and distractions, and our healthcare and welfare costs will plummet (I'm sure you've done the math too, right?), violent crime, no wait, street crime, no wait, gang crime will become a thing of the past!

There won't be anyone left to rear end our cars or cause other car accidents while violating our auto insurance laws either! Oh, but wait, I forgot that we want to eliminate insurance laws/mandates. As freedom loving patriots, we all know that it's unAmerican to pass a law requiring insurance coverage. What to do? What to do?

The services mentioned above as well as characteristics and potential improvements to our system are only what I could come up with, and I'm sure you may know of more. Maybe I'm wrong on all of this, but it's so straightforward, right?

Happiness vs Contentment

Sonnet 29

When in disgrace with fortune and men's eyes,
I all alone beweep my outcast state,
And trouble deaf Heaven with my bootless cries,
And look upon myself, and curse my fate,
Wishing me like to one more rich in hope,
Featur'd like him, like him with friends possess'd,
Desiring this man's art, and that man's scope,
With what I most enjoy contented least:
Yet in these thoughts myself almost despising,
Haply I think on thee,--and then my state
(Like to the lark at break of day arising
From sullen earth) sings hymns at heaven's gate;
For thy sweet love remember'd such wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my state with kings'.

Charlie

Welcome, Charlie...

This post is a bit late: He was born the week of Thanksgiving, and we are thrilled he is here! But, with a curious two-year+ old sister at home - and a tired, 'old' Mama - I'm more interested in surfing blogs when I have a second now (passive, little effort) versus posting on my own (active, brain function required).

We love you, little buddy!

Rush Limbaugh listeners = clown wanabees...

Is your career goal in life really to be a clown?

Enough said.
